Worse, at a runtime of about two-and-half hours Heroine looks like a long-drawn boring affair. His new film however lacks the element of surprise.
HEROINE 2012 FULL MOVIE UPDATE
Clearly, Madhur and his co-writers (Manoj Tyagi and Anuradha Tiwari) were trying to give us a more wicked update of Fashion, his 2008 film that also dug for showbiz skeletons. The problem with Heroine is the film banks on a weak script. A career that demands nothing short a perfect image has no place for an actress with mood swings. Rapidly growing unsure of what she wants, Mahi starts losing out. She thinks she finds it in the married superstar Aryan Khanna (Arjun Rampal), but her obsession for the opportunistic Aryan can only lead to heartbreak. In Mahi's case the flaw lies in her bipolar personality, obviously an outcome of the fact that she is a loner who pines for true love. Madhur's films are known to give the heroine one vital flaw that will facilitate downfall. The chinks in Mahi's world of perfection are laid down soon enough. The woman in question here is Kareena as superstar Mahi Arora. And yes, a single woman bitten by the success bug will invariably have a price to pay. It's a world where compromise is a way of life, friends and foes are chosen to suit vested interests and morality is a luxury you can ill-afford if you want to rise. The film industry backdrop in Heroine is one you are aware of if you routinely dig the gossip glossies. For Madhur, the research must have been easier this time since he was out exposing his own work space. You spot the filmmaker's penchant at creating fiction amidst a well-researched bag of facts. The film runs on standard Madhur Bhandarkar fuel. Heroine offered Madhur the irresistible scope to track that formula in a Bollywood setup with Kareena Kapoor in the lead. The bar dancer of Chandni Bar, the fiery politician of Satta, the honcho in Corporate, the hack in and the supermodel of Fashion have lived through photo-copied trials, tribulation and trauma, tweaked slyly to accommodate their respective occupational hazards. That woman keeps changing with every new Bhandarkar release, but the film remains the same. It is a film that tells us a woman on top in a man's world will invariably suffer doom, after an elaborate moral science session has played itself out on the screen. In his 13-year-old career, Madhur Bhandarkar has won accolades basically making one film. If we learned anything from The Hunger Games, its that girls need to stop worrying about which boy they want to kiss and start worrying about which boy theyre going to save in the coming revolution.Cast: Kareena Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, Arjun Rampal, Shahana Goswami In addition, Katniss takes out several of the most intimidating male tributes, and isnt afraid to stand up to any of them.

Peta probably wouldnt have survived the training without her help, not to mention the Games. One of the great things about The Hunger Games is that Katniss is shown to be more capable than her male competitors time and again. Katniss is a fighter, a confident young girl who uses her skills to do whatever she must to win the battle to the death that is the 24th Hunger Games. Katniss is no different, and will likely be remembered as one of Lawrences defining roles.

Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games) From her breakout role in Winters Bone to her turn redefining Mystique in last years X-Men: First Class, Jennifer Lawrence has made a name for herself playing strong female characters with real depth. WARNING: The rest of this post contains major spoilers for some of this year's biggest blockbusters. Girls who fight for worthy causes, even if its their own freedom. One can only hope that this will convince Hollywood that people will see films with female heroes. All of the films below dominated the box office upon release, three of them ranking in the top five for the year. This could just be the beginning of a larger trend. With a new generation of young girls in need of some positive role models (as opposed to the Paris Hilton-influenced generation), it seems that there are finally some worthy role models. Whether its with a bow and arrow, a sword, or a black leather body suit, these five women have all found a way to kick some major ass. It seems that the days of the damsel in distress may be numbered as women take to fighting their own battles. This year, we have seen more women in action roles than ever before.
